About CamTV and the Cambridge University media player
The Cambridge University Media Player provides listings for video and audio available from Cambridge University, produced by (or featuring) individuals, departments, colleges, or other groups. (If the name isn't obvious, think BBC radio player.) The Media Player initiative is a joint initiative between various departments and groups at Cambridge University. It is work in progress, and we'd appreciate your feedback.
The mediaplayer was originally conceived and launched by Björn Haßler around 2003 as "CU Live". More information can be found on the Science Media Network site.
CamTV
Ready for the new University of Cambridge website launch, the mediaplayer initiative was recognised as an important contribution to University life, and we have been asked to create a video player to be linked from the University home page. You can see the CamTV video (and audio) player here.
Support CamTV
CamTV is a project run by volunteers, without any direct support from the University. If you feel that CamTV is a valuable service,
please let us know by emailing bh213 @ the usual domain: cam.ac.uk or using a feedback form attached to one of the videos, e.g. here.
You can also support us by joining us on facebook. Click here to visit the CamTV group on facebook.
If you would like to donate to CamTV (in time, in kind, or financially), please contact Björn Haßler (bh213 @ the usual domain: cam.ac.uk).
Get your video and audio onto CamTV
If you're at Cambridge University, and you'd like to list your video or audio on here, just contact us. It's very easy, and works well with the UCS streaming media service. It might also help you display video on your own site, make your own podcast feed, and distribute your media in the best possible way.
If you would like to find out more about how to participate in the Media Player initiative, contact Björn Haßler, email: bh213 @ the usual domain: cam.ac.uk.
